2026 Fall Season Schedule & Divisions

Welcome to Chatham Football Club, home of the Cougars! Our volunteer-run 501(c)(3) program (EIN: 80-0838556) serves Chatham Borough and Chatham Township youth in grades 3–8 across Tackle Football, Co-ed Flag Football, and Cheerleading.

  • Tackle Football (Grades 4–8 • NJSYFL Levels A–E): Equipment fitting is Monday, August 17 at 5:00 PM at Lum Field House; preseason camp runs August 18 – September 3 (Mon–Thu, 6:00–8:00 PM) at Lum Field; regular-season practice meets Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00–8:00 PM, and Saturday, 9:00–11:00 AM, at Lum Field (Lum Ave, Chatham, NJ 07928). Sunday NJSYFL games and November league playoffs are hosted at Cougar Field (2026 practice schedule).
  • Co-ed Flag Football (Grades 3–8 • $150 Fee): 10-week season running Saturday, September 12 through Saturday, November 14 on the turf at Shunpike Field (58 Shunpike Rd). Grades 3/4 meet Saturdays 9:00–10:15 AM & Thursdays 6:45–8:00 PM; Grades 5/6 and 7/8 meet Saturdays 10:30–11:45 AM & Mondays 6:45–8:00 PM. Registration closes August 29.
  • Cougar Cheerleading (Grades 4–8 • $280 Fee): Weekly practices by grade (4th: Tue 5:30–7:00 PM; 5th: Thu 5:30–7:00 PM; 6th: Wed 7:00–8:30 PM; 7th: Wed 5:30–7:00 PM; 8th: Tue 7:00–8:30 PM) plus Sunday games and early-to-mid November playoffs at Cougar Field.

Programs

Grades 4–8 • NJSYFL

Tackle Football

Our tackle teams compete in the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League (ball-handler weight limits: 4th/E 95 lbs, 5th/D 105 lbs, 6th/C 120 lbs, 7th/B 135 lbs, 8th/A 160 lbs; no weight limit for offensive/defensive line). Coaches are Rutgers SAFETY and CPR/Defib certified. Read the tackle football program for grade objectives and equipment details.

Grades 3–8 • $150 Fee

Flag Football

Boys and girls in grades 3–8 learn fundamentals, formations, and terminology developed with the Chatham High School coaching staff on the turf at Shunpike Field. 10-week fall program (Sept 12 – Nov 14) in 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th grade divisions. Grades 4–8 • $280 Fee

Cheerleading

Coached by Chatham High School Varsity Cheerleaders and supervised by certified Parent Managers, our squads cheer for youth tackle teams at Cougar Field and away games. Uniforms are ordered through Go Ballistics Sports, and dedicated cheerleaders earn Diamond Club honors. Email [email protected] or visit the cheerleading page.
