Registration
Before you register
Football and cheer questions are welcome, Cougar families! Start with your child's grade, then ask the program about current availability. The regular season is already in progress, so confirm whether your child can join before submitting forms.
Updated October 25, 2026: Regular-season tackle practice meets Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00-8:00 PM, and Saturday, 9:00-11:00 AM, at Lum Field. Flag and cheer have separate schedules. Ask your program about attendance before enrolling.
- Choose tackle, co-ed flag or cheer.
- Ask the program about availability and costs.
- Review the current forms through TeamSnap registration.
Fees and private questions
Ask your program for the current fee, what it covers and which forms you need. Check clothing and equipment costs, too. Confirm the weekly practice and game commitment with your program before registering.
If costs are a concern, email [email protected] privately. Please ask. Donations help cover youth scholarships, turf time, shoulder pads and NOCSAE-certified helmets. Thank you to the families and sponsors helping our kids take part.
Tackle football
Grades 4-8
Your player will learn football fundamentals with an emphasis on safe technique, dedication and fair play. Practices use Lum Field Complex; home games use Cougar Field. Away games require travel. Equipment fitting takes place at Lum Field House, Lum Ave, Chatham, NJ 07928. The 2026 practice schedule lists regular-season hours and the completed preseason fitting's date, time and location. The coach provides grade-level fitting slots; they are not listed on that page. For a fitting now, ask the coach for an appointment and confirm any deposit amount and payee.
Tell us your player's grade and ask about practice attendance and equipment fitting. Our tackle notes explain the grade-level expectations.
Co-ed flag football
Grades 3-8
Boys and girls can learn and play together on the turf at Shunpike Field, 58 Shunpike Rd, Chatham Township, NJ 07928. Flag puts fun and sportsmanship alongside basic skills. Ask for the schedule for your child's group before signing up.
Your flag player needs a mouthpiece; cleats are strongly recommended. Read the flag page for contacts and group details. New to the game? Questions are welcome.
Cheerleading
Grades 4-8
Our cheer squads build confidence, teamwork and Cougar pride while supporting youth tackle teams at home and away. Ask about the weekly practice, game attendance and clothing. Home games are at Cougar Field at Chatham High School.
You can reach the parent managers through our cheer page. Include your child's grade. Please check uniform instructions before buying, since some pieces from the previous season can be reused.
Clinics and team notices
Looking at the 2025 Tip of the Spear clinic archive? Season registration and clinic arrangements need their own instructions. Ask the coach about the session your player wants to attend.
For a new session, ask the coach about its date, equipment and forms. Coaches post weather calls in TeamSnap. Use TeamSnap sign in for team messages.
